Message for Parents

Parents of students considering membership,

We at the Beta Kappa House understand that joining a fraternity concerns the student's parents as much as the student himself. It is the philosophy of Lambda Chi Alpha that new members be treated as equals with the brothers. In addition, Lambda Chi Alpha has a strict policy against hazing. Upon joining, your son will become an Associate Member. Unlike the common pledge at other fraternities, Lambda Chi Alpha's associate members obtain the same rights and respect as brothers. They are able to attend and vote at chapter meetings, participate in any activities they wish to, hold an officer or committee member position, and even vote on their own rush class members. Your son will never be asked to do anything degrading, dangerous, or unreasonable.

So you may be asking, what are the benefits of joining a fraternity? Upon joining, your son will immediately meet a diverse and fun group of fellow students who will help him grow into a man. Your son will have the opportunity to develop leadership skills, perform valuable community service, enjoy positive social experiences, and learn about the special friendships we call brotherhood. Whether he needs help studying, wants to hold a leadership position in the house, or just wants to relax and have fun, Lambda Chi Alpha provides endless opportunities for collegiate men. We also offer each new associate a Big Brother, who acts as a resource of information about the history and ideals of Lambda Chi Alpha. He is also a guide in applying the principles of our Fraternity to daily college life. From the time your son receives a Big Brother, he will always be there to help him answer any questions or listen to his concerns. In addition, Lambda Chi Alpha has an extremely strong and large alumni network which provides members with advice, obtaining an internship, or job hunting. The memories, achievements, and friends your son makes at Lambda Chi will last with him for the rest of his life. Finally, our rent and meal plan are cheaper (and better) than Georgia Tech's accommodations.
